Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, Vice President of Ghana, was in Gwollu on Saturday, June 29, 2024, to commiserate with the people of Gwollu during the funeral of the late Gwollu Kuoro. The funeral was held at the Gwollu Kuoro Palace.
The Paramount Chief of Gwollu and a former member of the Council of State, Kuoro Kuri Buktie Limann IV passed on May 02, 2024, and was buried according to custom.
The funeral brought together sons and daughters of the area, political class and other well-wishers in a mammoth display of culture and tradition.
His demise was disclosed by Kuoro Abdul Rahman Kasim Baata, the Vice President of the Gwollu Traditional Council shortly after the sad incident.
the late chief was a respected paramount chief in the Sissala West District Capital.
After the funeral, the Vice president also met with party executives and supporters in the Sissala West constituency.
As part of his itinerary, Dr Bawumia later travelled to Sorbelle to commission a newly constructed mosque.
The Vice President promised the mosque to the Sorbelle community during one of his 2016 campaign tours.
Although the mosque was completed several months ago, it was not officially commissioned.
