883 candidates have been registered for this year’s Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) in the Nandom Municipality.
The number includes 438 males and 445 females across four examination centres: Nandom Senior High School, Ko Senior High School, Baseble and St Maria Goretti Junior High Schools.
At the Nandom Senior High School centre, a total of 223 candidates made up of 112 males and 111 females drawn from 10 public basic schools are expected to sit for the examination.
The Ko Senior High School centre is hosting 161 students made up of 68 males and 93 females from nine (9) public basic schools.
Also, 156 males and 129 females totaling 285 candidates from 9 public basic schools are sitting for their examination at the St Maria Goretti Junior High School center while 214 candidates made up of 102 males and 112 females drawn from three (3) private schools and six (6) public school.
In total, 37 basic schools in the Nandom Municipality are participating in this year’s BECE with only five (5) schools offering French, and 29 schools offering computing.
