Daffiama Senior High School (SHS) has suspended 81 students and dismissed 7 others for various acts of misconduct. This action comes in response to persistent rule violations and issues related to the recent Sallah break.
According to school authorities, a significant number of students were found to be consistently violating school rules, even after signing bonds of good behaviour. Despite repeated warnings and efforts to correct their behaviour, the affected students continued to defy the established guidelines, leading to their suspension.
In addition to the persistent defiant, another group of students was warned to return to school on time after the Sallah break. These students had previously written an anonymous letter to the headmaster, requesting permission to go home for the Sallah celebration.
Despite being granted the break with a clear expectation to return promptly, many failed to adhere to the agreed timeline, prompting disciplinary action.
The suspended students are expected to return to school after a two-week suspension period. Upon their return, they will face hard labour as part of the school’s disciplinary measures.
This step is intended to reinforce the importance of adhering to school rules and maintaining discipline within the student body.
The dismissals involve students whose actions were deemed particularly egregious, necessitating a more severe response. The school administration believes that these decisive actions will serve as a deterrent to other students and help restore order and discipline within the institution.
