Many progressive-minded Nandome, Ghanaians and others all over the world have read with trepidation the veiled politically insidious intentions of the Hon. Ambrose Dery, to as usual, destroy any good development initiative(s) in Nandom that does not emanate from his stable.
The latest victim of this devious agenda is the newly out-doored Sangu Delle Foundation. Barely a month after the launch of the Sangu Delle Foundation in Nandom, the Hon. Ambrose through one of his trusted lackeys, in the name of Julius St. Baayel, has decided to set in motion this hideous, politically destructive machine to the prospects of the Foundation by issuing the article as captured in the heading above.
But let me state from the outset and without any shred of equivocation that Sangu Delle Foundation is here to stay and to fulfil its lofty objectives for the good people of Nandom, Upper West Region and other parts of the country. Let it be sounded loudly to the mischievous ears of St. Baayel and his sponsor that no cowardly maneuvers like this baseless article can undermine the resolve of Dr. Sangu Delle and his Foundation to among others support the education of our people, engender skills development and entrepreneurship amongst our youth and women in particular and promote mental health advocacy.
In its short span, the people of Nandom have witnessed the unprecedented delivery of machines and equipment for artisans. They have appreciated the capacity-building training and other outcomes from the Foundation. These hundreds of beneficiaries and many more expectant ones and the generality of forward looking Nandome are not in the mood to entertain such banal antics that has always been deployed by the Hon. Ambrose to put spokes in the wheels of Sangu Foundation and others carrying ‘goodies’ for the people in previous instances.
The people of Nandom still reminisce on the remarkable works of Simon’s Mango Tree Charity (Foundation) and bitterly lament these same disingenuous actions of the MP and then Minister for Interior to hijack the health outreach programme of this NGO and to promote it as another ‘Ambrose baby’, much to the chagrin of the promoters of the foundation and their UK counterparts. This arm-twisting tussle led to the abrupt abrogation of the services of this noble foundation. Nandome has been denied the annual ritual of receiving free medical care for different illnesses, diseases sicknesses, medical equipment and other supplies since 2018.
However, we have all appreciated the work of Pronet-North in Nandom. No Nandome raised any political concerns about the activities of Pronet-North even though, it became embedded in the campaign activities of the then struggling Ambrose Dery to raise his political capital and make a stake for the parliamentary seat of Nandom-Lawra and later Nandom. Mr. Martin Dery, a direct younger brother of Hon. Ambrose, championed the activities of his NGO in Nandom without anybody questioning his motives. It is not to say that the people of Nandom did not know that Pronet-North was fronting for Ambrose Dery’s political ambitions, they simply did not care how and who was bringing them relief in their socio-economic lives. This was a more progressive approach and still is. What has changed, however, is that Hon. Ambrose, a beneficiary of an ‘NGO in politics’ is now “seeing ghosts in broad daylight”.
His own past is haunting him to political perdition.
We are all aware of the activities of the infamous Martin Delle and his DKM in Ghana particularly Nandom. Much as DKM has sent people to their early graves out of trauma, many imperceptible Ghanaians and Nandome had no idea that the biggest beneficiary of DKM in Nandom was and still is Hon. Ambrose Dery. We saw how Martin Delle mobilized behind Ambrose in 2020 and we have seen him mobilizing again behind Ambrose and the NPP. We have seen and heard the loud-spirited defence mounted in favour of DKM by Lawyer Ambrose.
The simple question to Baayel and his sponsor is: do we take it that DKM is a political organization or movement for the political career of Hon. Ambrose Dery?
As I respond to this puerile article, Julius St. BAAYEL is the General Manager of Nandom Fm. By the books, Nandom Fm is supposed to be a community service radio. A non-politically partisan community radio, dedicated to the germane socio-economic issues affecting the people of Nandom. But what have we seen? Nandom Fm has been turned into a ‘noise box’; propagating vile and sometimes incendiary political messages in the name of Hon. Ambrose Dery and the NPP.
It has become a platform for exclusively NPP panellists who pollute the Nandom airwaves with the most obscene political vituperations targeting anybody and anything perceived as an opponent of Hon. Ambrose. Even this mischievous article is published under the Nandom Fm banner and carried on its official online portal. Have the people of Nandom questioned all of these?
This is the level of calumny and hypocrisy that the likes of St, Baayel can display to please the political whims of Hon. Ambrose.
To St. Baayel and for the avoidance of doubt, Sangu Delle Foundation has national coverage with its headquarters in Nandom. It is the evolution of over 17 years of philanthropic work in Health Service delivery, interventions in water and sanitation and hygiene in rural communities across Africa and other parts of the world by Dr. Sangu Delle and his colleagues. It is the consolidation of hope for the hopeless and an equalizer for the weak and vulnerable in Nandom and other parts of Ghana.
It is duly registered as a Non-Governmental, non-profit organization, honours its statutory obligations including its mandate as captured in the constitution and relevant statutes.
The Foundation draws inspiration from the indomitable Dr. Richard Kuuire and the many Nandome who have worked for the progress of Nandom and continue to aspire for higher platforms to bring about inclusive development and transformation of Nandom. The foundation is dedicated to the poor pupils and students of Nandom whose education guarantees the future of Nandom, the foundation is committed to the ambivalent youth, whose future looks bleak because they have no skill, are not employable and are without any business to subsist on, the foundation is a promoter of our women folk who needs to be amplified in their entrepreneurship ventures.
The Sangu Delle Foundation has been set up for the long haul; it is timeless; it defies any petty parochial political shenanigans and will outlive the politics of Hon. Ambrose and pliant hands like St. Baayel.
It aligns with right thinking Nandome, it collaborates with development enthusiasts all over Ghana and the globe and synergizes with the aspirations of the venerable Dr. Richard Kuuire.
Julius St. Baayel, whatever you will do with this information, the people of Nandom are not bothered!
Thank you.
Baghr Francis aka Kingbee
Concerned Nandome.
