The committee established to evaluate candidates for Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Chief Executive (MMDCE) positions in the Upper West Region has officially commenced its vetting process today, January 20, 2025.

On the first day of the exercise, 11 aspirants from Sissala East and 16 from Sissala West will be vetted.

The vetting continues on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, with 55 aspirants from four districts scheduled for assessment: 11 from the Lambussie District, 13 from Jirapa, 15 from Nadowli, and 16 from Wa East.

Day three will focus on aspirants from Nandom (19), Wa West (21), and Daffiama Bussie Issa (18).

The final day of the exercise, Thursday, January 23, 2025, will see the vetting of 17 aspirants from Wa East and 11 from Wa Central.

In total, 168 aspirants are participating in the process. However, Issah Kangyeri withdrew from the race midway, leaving 167 individuals to be vetted.

The committee’s goal is to streamline the number of candidates and facilitate the selection of the final 11 MMDCEs for the region.
