Two masked robbers attacked a mobile money shop near the ESP station in Nandom town on Sunday night around 8:30 PM, firing gunshots before fleeing the scene. Fortunately, no one was harmed.
Eyewitnesses reported that the armed men had stormed the area, causing panic among residents. It is unclear how much money they managed to steal, but a mobile phone used in the mobile money transaction was taken away.
This latest attack adds to a series of robberies targeting mobile money vendors in Nandom, raising concerns about security in the municipality.
The matter has since been reported to the police, who are expected to begin investigations.
Residents are calling for increased police patrols to curb the growing threat.
