The Member of Parliament for Sissala East and Deputy Minister for Sanitation and Water Resources Issahaku Amidu Chinnia has received backlash after he failed to substantiate allegations against Former President John Dramani Mahama.
Speaking on Metro TV’s news review segment of Good Morning Ghana, the former Deputy Upper West Regional Minister alleged that former president Mahama and some members of the opposition National Democratic Congress, NDC, purchased state properties including lands during the presidency of John Mahama.
“John Mahama sold more state assets than this government. Even the bungalow that he lived in as Vice President when he was leaving, he wrote for it to be given to him. He bought state lands. Officers of the NDC including former president Mahama ought a lot of state lands” He said
But when the host of the programme Dr. Randy Abbey subjected him to scrutiny, the Sissala East legislator could not provide any evidence to buttress his allegations.
Instead, Amidu Chinnia told the host to check for the evidence. He further said “On the matter of the state lands, I will get the details for you”
The host finally prompted him to withdraw the statement because he could not substantiate it.
