Students in Basic four (4) and six (6) in Nandom Municipal of the Upper West Region took part in the nationwide National Standardized Test (NST) in literacy and numeracy from the 23rd to 24th July 2024.
A total of 2,190 students made up of 1124 Basic four (4) students and 1066 Basic six (6) students sat for the NST across four designated centres: St Maria Goretti Junior High School, Nandom Senior High School, Ko Senior High School and Baseble Basic School.
Students from the Nandom North and Puffien Circuits sat for the examination at Nandom SHS while those from Nandom East and West Circuits used St Maria Goretti JHS.
The Baseble and Gengenkpe Circuits sat for the examination at Baseble Basic School and students from Nandom South used the premises of Ko SHS.
The NST is intended to generate national data on learners’ Literacy and Numeracy ability.
The NST will also provide information to decide on which schools and districts need specific interventions.
