The Zakat and Sadaqa Trust Fund of Ghana has initiated pragmatic steps towards easing the stress of paying zakat and sadaqa for Muslims. The fund managers have created digital platforms to enable eligible Muslims to fulfil their religious obligations in the comfort of their homes.
The new online payment plan can be affected on daily, weekly, monthly, or one-time through the shortcode *789*2# and follow the prompts.
Individuals and corporate organisations are encouraged to use the platform for easy payment of Zakat and Sadaqa.
The initiative also aimed at reaching One Million Muslims to pay One Ghana Cedi per Day as Sadaqa
Resources accrude from the Zakat and Sadaqa trust Fund are used to support Muslim communities in the areas of education, health, business development, sports, youth human resource development among others.
Speakng to UpperWestNews, the Chief Executive Officer of Zakat and Sadaqa Trust Fund, Hajj B. M. Adam encouraged self-sufficient Muslims to take the opportunity to effectively touch the lives of their underprivileged colleagues through their contributions.
He further assured that, the fund will be used judiciously to improve lives of Ghanaian Muslims.
