The MP for Wa central constituency, Hon. Rashid Pelpuo has filed his nomination forms at the Wa municipal office of the Electoral Commission to run for the sixth time.
The one-time Minister of State at the presidency in charge of Public Private Partnership appeared at the office of the EC beaming with smiles and exuding enormous confidence as he and his team went through the processes to have their forms accepted.
Flanged by constituency and regional executives, the Wa central constituency legislator addressed the media at the forecourt of the Wa municipal office of the EC by describing the process as fair.
According to Dr. Rashid Pelpuo, his confidence arises from the fact that his main contender, Hajia Humu Awudu has been strategically mapped out of the race. He indicated that Hajia Humu’s strengths and weaknesses have been identified.
‘We are sometimes afraid of unknown individuals but this is a known individual. I know her limits and her strengths. He said
The Wa Central MP further asserted his commitment to widening the numerical gap that existed during the last elections. He was emphatic that, the vote difference would be doubled. ‘ What we are looking for now is for the time to come. This round our victory will be massive’.
Per the account of Dr. Pelpuo, the majority of the constituents of Wa Central are desirous of a change in government. This if achieved he believes would give him an impetus to engender rapid development in the Wa central constituency.
Dr. Rashid Pelpuo in the 2020 parliamentary elections defeated Hajia Humu Awudu of the NPP both have since filed for the 2024 parliamentary elections.
