A deputy national Communications Officer of the opposition National Democratic Congress, NDC, Malik Basintale has pledged that, John Dramani Maham will fix the roads within the Sissala areas and others within the first 100 days of an NDC government.
Speaking at the campaign launch in Tumu, Mr Basintale lamented the sorry state of the roads within the enclave and reiterated that some current politicians from the Sissala East Constituency might go to jail if the NDC wins the 2024 elections.
The NDC launched the Sissala Constituency campaign in its bid to reclaim the parliamentary seat from the NPP and win the election for former president John Dramani Mahama.
The NDC Parliamentary Candidate Mohammed Bataglia Issah will battle the incumbent MP and Deputy Sanitation Minister Amid Issahaku Chinnia in the parliamentary contest.
A 37-member campaign team was constituted to spearhead all campaign activities.
The event which took place on September 29, 22024 at the Tumu community centre was graced by MP for Jirapa, Cletus Seidu Dapila, Sissala West MP Mohammed Sukparu, NDC Upper West Regional Chairman AbdulNasi Sani Bunas, Regional Organizer Thomas Mwinbahaara, other regional executives and scores of the constituency and polling station executives.
The campaign team which will be led by the Parliamentary Candidate Mohammed Bataglia, the party constituency Chairman Razak Namoro Mahama and coordinated by the party constituency Secretary Amadu Nandzo. Other members are the constituency Organizer, communication officer, youth organizer, women organizer, and elections director.
The rest are former members of Parliament Alijata Sulemana Gbentie, and Hajia Rafatu Dubie, representative of assemblymembers Elijah Kantongboku, six other zonal heads of the campaign and many more.
The party constituency party Chairman Mr. Razak Mahama Namor aka Molokoo assured a victory margin of over ten thousand.
The parliamentary candidate Mohammed Issah Bataglia highlighted some achievements of the PNDC/NDC in the Sissala area. He mentioned electricity connectivity, construction of roads, and the establishment of a midwifery training college as key developmental initiatives of the NDC.
