Pupils and teachers at Nandom E/A Basic School in the Nandom Municipality of the Upper West Region face inadequate classroom facilities. The challenge is significantly affecting teaching and learning.
Sources reveal that several classrooms were destroyed by a rainstorm sometime ago.
As a result, school authorities have been forced to merge classes 1 and 2, 5 and 6, and KG 1 and 2 to accommodate all pupils.
The school, with a total enrollment of 152 pupils and 11 teachers, including the headteacher, is now operating under challenging conditions.
Many parents are reluctant to send their children to the school due to the deteriorating state of the classrooms.
Despite reporting the issue to the Nandom District Education Directorate, no significant action has yet been taken to address the situation.
